Another Picture

Hi All...

On our backpacking trip in the Bob Marshall Wilderness (Montana), we had to bathe every day. It wasn't a choice. With 90+ degree temperatures and a 50+lb pack, there was no choice in the matter. Luckily, with the hot weather, it wasn't difficult to take a dip. Here Dad and I are in the river....our fifth night out.

Semi-Update

We've had a busy summer...I just got back from a backpacking trip, and leave tomorrow morning for Cody WY to see Greg. We'll start posting (maybe) when we get back from Cody, but it might have to wait until September. We move to Provo on September 1st, and school starts September 4th. There should be increased calm thereafter.

Have a good week!

Hannah

So We have this picture of Marcella and Jon at the zoo last year. Every time Marcella sees it she says "Hannah". Then when we tell her no that's you. She says "NO, Hannah". It is pretty funny, because at first glance it looks a little bit like Hannah. What do you guys think?

So Jon is still gone and I am trying to occupy my time. So I am redoing a dresser for Marcella, I was hoping to be able to stain it, but it used to belong to my little brother Jason, and let's just say he had a lot of fun writing all over it. The only sad thing is I forgot to get a picture of it before. I will post one of it tonight after I get it finished I am excited. Well have a great day!

Fun

So I am sitting here all alone, because Jon went back packing for a week. It is the end of the third day he has been gone and he only has 5 more til he is home again, but who is counting? Marcella usually does pretty good while he is gone, but me on the other hand.... I'll let you know how I hold up. Take tonight for instance. I went to a shoe party. I think they now have every single kind of party, (it all started with Tupperware, I swear) but I have been to a bazillion parties lately. Anyways, I brought Marcella along because they have cute kid shoes. It was quite funny. I really wish I had a video I could play for all of you because she went crazy. She tried on all the shoes that would fit her and then started trying on the ones for women. Then the best part, she through the biggest fit I have ever seen because she wanted the ugliest pair of flip flops, the only reason she wanted them was because they squeak when you walk. (here is the link so you can check out the shoes and see the flip flops Marcella got) I know I need to work on my "you don't get your way when you throw a fit" but I just couldn't do it tonight, so she won. I will let you know if she ever even wears them to make it worth the $5.

Tomorrow I am hoping to find a place to live in Provo. I am giving myself two days to find one. Please wish me luck. Maybe I can get all of your opinions tomorrow I will take some pictures to see what you guys think. Then I can get a bunch of opinions, especially since Jon is gone. We will see how it goes. I really am hoping the first one I look at will be the winner, but I am guessing it will be the very last one I see.

So I know that everyone just gets on to check the pictures on blogs, so I found some cute ones. This one is of Marcella after we had gone up Millcreek Canyon with my mom, Caroline and Jeff. It was sure fun, and as you can see Marcella had a fabulous time playing in the dirt. (sorry it is a little blurry)

These next ones are of our trip to the cabin the end of June. We had so much fun. We floated down the river and played in the freezing cold water. Marcella had a blast playing in the dirt and eating rocks and sticks. She absolutely loves the cabin. Here we are playing in Moose Creek. It wasn't too cold and Marcella was having a lot of fun.

Well, I better get to bed if I want to get any sleep. I hope that all of you are having a wonderful day. love ya tons!

SuMmeR FuN!

This summer has been so much fun. It has just been filled with one adventure to the next. We just got back from the cabin and had the time of our lives. I will have to post some pictures from that trip later though. Here are some from our first trip to Lagoon this year.

It was Stake Lagoon Day so my mom, Jason, Nathan, Jon, Marcella and I went to Lagoon. we decided not to get passes for us staying with Marcella, and just take her on all the free rides. Besides why buy a pass for an 18 month old when it costs $20 and she most likely will scream the whole ride right? Well....

This was her face when we started moving on the train. She was so excited. It was pretty funny.

She had so much fun that right after we got off the train we went right back on it. This is Marcella and her friend Lily. They are exactly 2 weeks apart. The funny thing is they were both 2 weeks early too. They sure have a lot of fun together.

The other free ride, can you find Marcella? Jon got roped into going on this ride, mainly because I have already done this one with Marcella in Michigan. Thank goodness, just looking at this picture makes me a little sick.

We decided that since we would most likely come back again this year, we should find out how Marcella likes the rides. So we bought enough tickets for two rides. First the Boats.

Let's just say these pictures don't do it justice, mainly because she loved it so much she cried when we had to get off.

Then we dared the airplanes. This was going to be the deciding factor, if she loves the airplanes then she would love any ride. We put her in there and she just started playing with the joy stick.
She had so much fun! She wouldn't stop playing with the joy stick until the ride started and then when it made her go up she let go, it was pretty funny. She also was pretty sad when this ride was done.

You can't go to Lagoon without buying a corn dog and maybe some cotton candy. So I got my favorite thing in the world, a huge corn dog, and we got Marcella some cotton candy, as you can see... she didn't care for the cotton candy one bit. We could barely even get a piece in her mouth. but she had fun taking over my corn dog.

YUM!!

Can You BELIEVE it?

FIVE WHOLE YEARS! WOW!

It sure has been fun so far. We have had our fair share of good and bad days, but I have to say I would still never trade it for the world. Jon and I just got back from spending a few days in Logan. We stayed at Providence Inn. It was the coolest place ever. If you guys are ever looking for a good place to stay that place is it. It was hard to leave, especially because we got a wake up call every morning and they would ask us what we wanted for breakfast and when we wanted to eat it, then they brought it to us. It was pure heaven. I hope you all get a kick out of this next picture.

So what do you think? Who has changed the most. I think it is so crazy how much everyone can change in just five years. Time sure flies! I hope you all have a great day!

Kicking Off the Summer

We went to the cabin last week. Here are some pictures. We had more fun than you can imagine!

We made a monstrous bonfire....it was the hottest fire I've ever been next to, mainly because we used the Shop Vac as a bellows.

We went to Yellowstone. There were a bunch of bison calves....they're cute, and I bet they taste good too.

This is the closest we came to a group picture...Caroline and Jeff aren't in it...but the rest of us are. Mom, Dad, and Greg were at the Cabin, too, but they left before our trip to Old Faithful.

I was holding Marcella on my shoulders for the eruption. Kanien was gracious enough to assume the role of photographer, and quite insightfully refrained from snapping photos of the geyser. Instead, she took pictures of us observing the geyser in awe.

Marcella enjoyed herself immensely. She was able to run around outside with little to no supervision, and no one got on her case if she got dirty. She really had a blast.

This was our second bonfire...no Shop Vac, but it was plenty hot (especially for Marcella)!

Owie, Hannah, and Caroline -- Marcella loves her cousins!

Marcella likes to draw

Marcella got a lot of dirt-time in...she kept stumbling on the grate in the south staircase...it got to the point where she wouldn't cross any cracks...not even the perfectly safe ones! Here she's trying to get me to carry her off of the porch.

On the last day, we went to Moose Creek. We thought Marcella would have a fun time wading, but the water was a little cold. Instead of splashing, she'd throw sticks and flowers into the stream. Once, she leaned over too far and ended up face-first in it anyway. She wasn't too happy.

I'll post more pictures tonight or tomorrow.

Before our Chaos

So before our lives were turned upside down we had a fun day at the park and Jon Graduated!! Yea. I took a lot of pictures of his graduation, but they were mostly slides, but I have a couple from the party.

Here we all are. The park was soo busy. I think the ducks were about to explode with all the food they have been getting. We still had a fun time though.

Cute little Hannah

What a cute Couple!

The ducks were pretty cute though.

So for all of you who missed out on Jon's party, I am sorry. It was the best food ever! This dessert was amazing. man I wish I still had it.

This is Tony and Richmond. Richmond is two weeks younger than Marcella.

Here are Antonio and Maria. They are good friends of ours. They are from Italy. Antonio met Jon through work. They are such wonderful people.

Here is Jon doing the honors of cuting the dessert. YUMMMMMM!!!

Last of all here is Marcella playing the pool a few days before we left. She loves the pool. We have been having a blast letting Lily (the next door neighbor who is 2 weeks to the day younger than Marcella) come over and play with us. Marcella really enjoys living at grandmas! We have been having so much fun. Well, I hope you all have a great day. I will try to post some more pictures later. Love ya all!

Sorry No Pictures Tonight

So what an adventure. I am sure that all of you are dying to see what everything looked like and looks like, but since my computer isn't hooked up and Jon has the camera, you will just have to be in suspence for a while. This week has been crazy and completely wonderful all at the same time. It is crazy how you don't realize how much something can cause you stress until you don't have to do it anymore. I am so glad that we are not living with Grandma anymore. It really has relieved so much stress. Even though the move has maybe added a little more, I still feel completely free. Well, I hope that all of you are having a fabulous day.
CONGRATS JEFF on Graduating today! WAY TO GO!

Ok so long story short, we moved out of Grandma Noni's house and are now living with Jon's parents and my parents. If you don't know how that is possible, you will just have to come and see it for yourselves. Here are there phone numbers if you want to get a hold of us.

Terry's 544.3765
Katherine's 544.7186

Well, I will have to post pictures of our 2 day move, it was crazy, but right now we are going to go to Doug and Emmy's for breakfast so I have to run. Love you all.

Big Mistake

Kanien had a rough afternoon yesterday...For most of the day, Marcella had occupied herself by removing any sort of order from all of our living space. We once nicknamed her "Captain Entropy," a name I'm confident could apply to any and all toddlers of 18 months. Kanien wanted me to take her somewhere far, far away, so she could wind down and get some stuff done. So we went to the park.

After we came home from the park, I gave Marcella a bath. I asked her if she wanted bubbles, and she responded with an excited ah-huh (she doesn't say yes)...and since we didn't have any bubble bath, I just poured half a bottle of Suave Shampoo into the tub, thinking it might work. Well...it worked alright...and we got more bubbles than even I bargained for, which Marcella loved! Bubble baths are a bit tougher than normal ones, as the simple, "Don't splash so much" turns into a much more complex montage of "Don't eat the bubbles! Don't drink the water! Don't touch your eyes! Don't dump them out of the tub! Don't lick your hands!" and so on...here are a few pics of the spectacle.

This was after I'd taken a whole bunch of pictures, and she wanted me to get her a cup to play with...that's usually her favorite bath toy, so I complied...after which she promptly attempted to mix a bubbles and bathwater cocktail. I didn't want to have a bubble-burping baby all night, so I took it away really quick. It made her growl at me.
