Eventful Week

So I just want to apologize for not posting as much as I should. I have been a big slacker. I think it is mainly due to the fact that I don't take very many pictures anymore. I have resolved to take more pictures. Marcella is growing up so much and I am sad that I don't have a lot of pictures. Today I took a ton, so I hope that you will enjoy the worlds longest blog post. Man, a lot of things happened this week.

On Wednesday, my Mom came over and by the end of the night we had my Mom, Jason, Nathan, Cameron, Amie, Amy, and Lizzy over, and I had made 19 pies (oh and we went and saw the new James Bond movie with David and Kristi, if you haven't seen it yet you should--we really liked it). The House was a sight to behold, but we didn't take a picture. So just imagine it if you can. All the pies looked delicious. Thursday, Lizzy and I went on a bike/run for 4 miles. I think it is becoming our Thanksgiving tradition because we did it last year, too.

This is us at Grandma Wallin's. Marcella really liked the turkey. It was a really good meal, I enjoyed it!

This is Marcella. She has been having fun coloring here and there, every so often, but in the past few days she has taken a whole new love to it. I taped a paper to a stool so she could color on it without coloring the stool. She tried to pick it up and ripped it. She thought the world had ended the way that she cried. I thought it was a little funny. She is having a hard time learning that you need to only color on paper, so if you come over and notice the crayon marks on the couch (or everywhere else for that matter), just smile and forget they are even there.

Marcella is now in a forward-facing carseat, mainly because I don't think our old one was safe for her anymore. She was sticking out the top and her legs hung over the bottom of it. If she has clothes, she is over the 20 lbs requirement for front-facing children. I figure since she doesn't ever ride in it naked, we are ok. I have never seen her as happy about anything as she is about this car seat. She loves being in it. It's quite fun to look in the rear view mirror and actually see her. She just laughs at you when you look at her. She really is silly.

I only took one group picture for Thanksgiving at my Mom's house on Saturday, and it wasn't even of the whole group (and it is blurry). I am really sorry I don't have more pictures, Dad. We sure did have a lot of fun though. Jon cooked the Turkey and it was one of the best Turkey's I have ever eaten. It was so moist and tender. The funny thing is that Jon said the turkey will be done soon, so what did we all do? We sat down and played a game. Then Jon said, uh...the Turkey is done, and we all were in Panic mode making salads, cooking the potatoes for Mashed potatoes, making the gravy, setting the table, etc. Everything was quite funny. It sure was fun! Thanks everyone for all your help. You guys are the best!! Marcella slept through the preparations until it was actually time to eat. She's eating some Yummy Yams in the picture. The best part about the yams was we only had big marshmellows to put on them and no one set the timer, so when Jon asked Jason to check them, he said "How do you know if they are done?" and Jon said, "When the Marshmellows are brown." Jason said, "There aren't any marshmellows." We all got a good laugh because they had all melted to the top of the lid and disapeared. Marcella sure liked them though.

Marcella has started climbing on any climbable surface. I had the wrapping paper box by the piano bench and she thought it would be fun to climb from the box onto the bench. Then she would sit and play on the piano for 5-10 minutes then climb down and do it all over again. She did this about all morning on Monday. I thought for sure she was going to fall and I was going to have to take her to the Dr. for some stitches, but she didn't do that until....

I heard a scream from downstairs and so I ran down and she had gotten trapped in the bar stools. at first I thought she had just hurt her hand because it was smashed under the stool and her body was on it, but after a few minutes I noticed her eye was bruised as well. She now has a black eye. Although I should have taken a picture of it the first night, because it was a lot darker than it looks in this one. It was really red and greenish purple closer to her eye (but it wasn't really that bad). As you can see, two days later it is practically gone. Poor thing. (It is her right eye...you really can't even tell in this picture can ya?)

Monday night we went and got our Christmas tree (which still isn't decorated). I love it. We ended up going to about 4 different places looking for a Frasier Fir, but ended back at the first place we visited to get a Douglas Fir. We put it on top of our car and then tied it on. Jon would hand me the rope through the windows and then wrap it around the tree. When he was done, he went to open his door and realized he'd tied all the doors shut! He had fun getting in through the window to drive home. When we got back he said, "We have to take some pictures," so here you can see Marcella and I sitting in the car.

Today Marcella made a treat for Daddy, and she thought it was so much fun. It was cute watching her get so excited when the mixer went on. She is so much fun.

Sorry for ruining the surprise Dad, but these were too good looking not to take a picture of. I hope this makes all of you want to bake some cookies...especially Kristin, because I could sure go for some of her Chocolate Chip ones. I have been craving those ever since General Conference. (If you can't tell, Kristin, this is a hint. You should make me some of them real soon, and then a whole bunch for me for Christmas. I would love you forever!!!!)

Here she is again. Climbing. I think that we are going to be spending a lot of time in the emergency room with this girl. Everytime I see her and she's standing somewhere she should sit, or up on top of something that she is going to fall from, I think--oh it's inevitable. I guess only time will tell, though.

So Last but not least I couldn't leave out one of the most important things that happened this weekend. Jon finally made me some "Pasta e Fagioli". Oh man, you can ask any of us who had it how good it was. I was really suprised because I admit for the past 4 years of marriage he has been telling me about how he is going to make it for me and how I would like it and I would say, "Ummm...I don't think so...but if you want to make it, go right ahead." This lack of enthusiasm never really motivated him to do it, so he just barely got around to it. It was sooooo good that just talking about it makes me want to eat some right now, only there wasn't even any leftover. Crazy huh. He also made this other soup called Italian Chick Pea Soup. It is now Marcella's favorite. It wasn't mine though, it has a really interesting taste to it (probably from the non-Italian Bacon Jon used in it). But nonetheless here is the ceci (pronounced che-chi) soup, and Marcella eating it.

Well, I hope that this was fun for all of you to read, and I am sorry for not being a better blogger. I will try to do better in the next few weeks. I hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I will see ya later! Love ya!

Marcella's new Playroom

So at the request of Caroline, here are some new pictures. A while ago Jon and I talked about making a fort behind the couch for Marcella, well today I did just that.

This is the entrance.

It is just her size. I think that she likes it, she has been back there for a while now, I think my only worry is that where her toys used to be, it blocked the bookcase so she couldn't get all of the books out. I hope she doesn't remember they are there.

Yes, Marcella is sitting in her toy basket, for some reason she always does that when she is playing. I think it is quite funny.

We Survived!!

So I guess I should say that I survived looking at Jason's hand more than a few times and not passing out. Of that I am really grateful. It is gross and makes me sick if I think about it too much. So he thought it would be cool to punch some kid and this is what he has to show for it. His nuckle on his ring finger is gone. I was a little disappointed with these pictures, because it looks worse in real life. He now has to go and see an Orthopedic surgen to get it fixed next week.

Next we survived going to Nathan's apartment and not getting sick! (Well not yet anyways.) No it was a lot of fun, Sam had our family and His family come down for a fun dinner of hamburgers and salads etc. It was a lot of fun. These are just what his aprtment looks like. I have to give them credit, it wasn't too messy, and the bathroom was clean. Good job Sam!

Well, this is about how dirty it was, when we got home Marcella's feet looked like this, we had to run a clean stripe down the middle so you could see how dirty. (This was actually taken a few days ago, not right after we went to Nathan's, but don't tell him, I like to tease him!)

Well, I hope that all of you have had a fun weekend. Mine has been full of adventure and now it is only 7:00 and I am ready to go to bed. UGH! Have a good one, love ya all!

Halloween

So I know that this is a little late, but some of you have been asking for pictures, so here you are. This is at Grandma Wallin's Halloween party. It was a lot of fun. Marcella if you can't tell was an elephant, and Jon was a zoo keeper. It was nice, I didn't have to take care of her at all the whole time. (Good Work Zoo Man!) Halloween we decided to make suprise visits to Grandma Wallin and Grandma Dougal's. They were both suprised when we knocked and said Trick Or Treat. Marcella thought it was the best thing ever. After we got home, it was about 8, so we took Marcella to a couple houses in our neighborhood, and had the time of our lives. She was being so funny making pig noises and laughing so hard that we all were laughing. The minute that someone would open the door though, she was completely quiet. Took the candy they gave her, gave them a small smile and we left. Then the minute the door was shut, she would start up again laughing and giggling. It was a lot of fun. We decided that we should video her because she was being so funny. hopefully we will get it done soon so we can post it, but don't count on it for a while, Jon has been super busy with school and working at the library and at JTV so it has been a little crazy here. Well, I hope that you all enjoy the pictures, I will try harder to put more up. Love ya all and have a great day!

Little Princess

Right...Marcella's eating solid foods, even though she's as toothless as a senior citizen (probably more toothless than most of 'em). She really likes Pasta with Red....our traditional spaghetti w/homemade sauce meal.

So here's a picture of Marcella playing with a Tiara...Kanien used it last year for Halloween, and Elizabeth used it this year. You can see she's still pretty skinny. She only weighs 18 1/2 pounds. Her weight gain has sort of reached a plateau. In the last month she's only gained half a pound. Part of that is because we're trying to wean her of formula, and sometimes she won't eat solid foods. We still feed her a bottle right before she goes into her crib at night, unless she ate an unusually large dinner. The pictures above are from last night's dinner.
